Real plans, real people

Here I am.

Post a plan, or take a seat on someone else's. Then turn up. EccomiH turns “we should do something sometime” into padel on Thursday, a sunrise run on Saturday, a gallery walk on Sunday.

Live in Dubai, Madrid, Amsterdam, Luxembourg No swiping, no DMs Exact spot only for people who are in

Sound familiar?

A city of millions.
Nobody to play with.

Most of us came from somewhere else, many of us alone. A good job, a nice flat, a full calendar, and still nobody to play padel with on a Thursday. You'd happily do the thing, if only three other people were doing it too.

“We should do something sometime.”Said a hundred times. Planned never.
“I'd go, but I don't want to go alone.”So nobody goes.
“Who do I even ask?”The hardest part is the first message.

This is what you'll see

Small plans.
Real people.

Sport, food, culture, outdoors, learning. Every plan has a time, a public meeting point, a host and a few seats. Take one and you're in.

How it works

Four steps.
No endless planning.

01

Post a plan

Activity, when, a public meeting point, Min and Max seats, and a decision time. Or describe it in a sentence and ✦ pre-fills the form for you to check.

02

Take a seat

One tap, one commitment. You see the area, not the spot, until you're in.

03

It's on

Min reached by decision time? It's on. Everyone in gets the exact spot, directions in the app they already use, and a plan chat open until the plan closes.

04

Turn up

Say “eccomi”. Roll-call opens at the start, and afterwards the plan is rated as described or not. People never are.

Somewhere in Jumeirah

Privacy by design

The exact spot is only for people who are in.

Before you join, you see an area, not a meeting point. Take a seat and the pin appears, along with the plan's chat.

  • Plans show an approximate area on the public map.
  • The exact meeting point, always a public place, is shared only with people who took a seat.
  • No direct messages. The plan chat is for logistics and stays open until the plan closes.
  • Rather not meet someone again? Say so privately and it simply doesn't happen.

Questions

Fair questions.

Is it safe to meet people I don't know?

Plans meet in public places, groups stay small, and the exact meeting point is shared only with people who took a seat. If you'd rather not meet someone again, you say so privately and it simply doesn't happen. As with any meetup, trust your instincts.

Is it a dating app?

No. There is no swiping, no profile to polish and no chatting for weeks before anyone meets. The activity is the reason to show up.

Can I message people?

There are no direct messages. Once you hold a seat, you get the plan's chat for logistics, and it stays open until the plan closes.

Does money go through the app?

Never. If a plan has a cost, like a padel court, you split it like friends do.

What if not enough people join?

Every plan has a Min and a decision time, suggested 6 hours before the start. If Min isn't reached by then, the host's pre-set rule applies and everyone is told the same thing at the same time.

What if I drop out late or don't show?

Your record shows three numbers: went, late drops and no-shows, over the last 8 weeks. Reach 2 late drops or no-shows and plans with a Min are closed to you for 4 weeks. Other members see those three numbers and nothing else.

What is roll-call?

When a plan starts, everyone with a seat counts as having gone, unless the host unticks them or they say they didn't go. Afterwards the plan is rated as described or not; people never are.

Which cities?

Dubai first, because that's where this started. Then Madrid, Amsterdam and Luxembourg. Other cities as people ask for them.

Why “EccomiH”?

Eccomi is Italian for “here I am”: what you say when you arrive or show up for someone. That's the whole idea.

Why I built this

“Someone says pizza tonight?, four people answer eccomi, and that is the evening.”

In Italy, when you walk into a room you say it: Eccomi. Here I am. I grew up with that word, and I didn't think about it much until I moved to Dubai and noticed how rarely I heard anything like it.

Dubai has all the tables, the courts, the beaches. What it is often missing is the four people who answer. So I took the word from home and gave it an H, for Here I am. An Italian habit, opened up to everyone.
